Networking Session with New Members

A total of 60 members gathered at Singapore Manufacturing Federation to welcome the new members on 28 March 2013 and to learn more about the investment opportunities in South Africa. Mr Andre van Straten, Counsellor (Political) for High Commission of the Republic of South Africa, and Her Excellency, Ms Hazel Francis Ngubeni, High Commissioner-designate for High Commission of the Republic of South Africa were present for the event.

Speaking to the audience, Mr Sunny Koh, Chairman, SMF Membership & Industry Groups introduced the new members to the various platforms available to them for participation and highlighted the various industry groups. Putting an emphasis on the “importance of members’ participation and feedback to honour different industry platforms”, Mr Sunny Koh encouraged new members to continue supporting the federation’s efforts in championing manufacturing growth through the various seminars and missions organized.


Expressing this enthusiasm in his newly acquired membership, Mr Jack Yeo, Commercial Leader, Partnerships & Channel Sales Asia Pacific, GE Power & Water, said “I learnt about Singapore Manufacturing Federation after talking to Mr Sunny Koh and Pauline Soh on one of the meetings that I came across. Being in the water business, I hope to address the water needs for the SMEs and Food & Beverage sector, and know about the government initiatives through SMF.”

Mr Sunny Koh gave a brief introduction of the history of SMF. The session ended with the presentation of certificates to the new members of SMF, to honour their membership and entrance into the federation.
“I joined Singapore Manufacturing Federation to find out ways to increase productivity through the seminars organized by the federation and plan to incorporate the things I learnt into my business”,  Ms Claris Koh, Executive Manager, Wang Foong Foodstuffs Suppliers Pte Ltd said, when asked about her aspirations in joining the federation as a new member.
